ARBOR DAY - Mayor Reina read Arbor Day proclamation. Arbor Day was first observed in Nebraska by J Sterling Morton observed this day by planting more than a million trees. Arbor Day is observed throughout our nation and country. Trees reduce erosion, cut heating and cooling costs, moderate the temperature, clean our air, produce oxygen and provide a habitat for our wildlife. Trees are a renewable resource which supply us with paper, wood for our homes and provides a source of fuel for our fires and numerous wood products. Trees increase our property values, beautify our communities, and provide us with joy and spiritual renewal. Mayor Michael Reina proclaimed April 28, 2018 Arbor Day to urge all residents to support the protection of our trees and woodlands and to preserve our township’s forestry programs.
COUNCILMAN CALOGERO – congratulated the Chaplains appointed by Mayor Reina and thanked them for the great cause they serve in our community and their spiritually guidance within our town. He mentioned how the PBA provided a Chaplain who helped his family and looks forward to their accomplished greatness in our community.

COUNCIL PRESIDENT BRESSI – stated he has experienced Chaplains through the military and witnessed their accomplishments. Chaplains were requested for spiritual guidance in many different parts of the world and encouraged residents to research the “Four Chaplains”. He briefly referenced the story of the “Four Chaplains” and their support to Service Members. Chaplains in the military have a very unique function in supporting our Service Members and our newly appointed Chaplains will provide that to our community. Thankful of their service and the Mayor for their appointment.
