1. Roll Call	Roll was taken by President Jasmin Thurman; attendees are listed above
2. Agenda	Motion to approve the agenda for the October 13, 2020 Staff Senate Meeting	• Unanimously approved
3. Approval of Minutes	Approval of February 2020 and September 2020 Staff Senate Meeting Minutes	• Unanimously approved
4. Opening Remarks	President Jasmin Thurman gave her opening remarks
5. Introduction of New Senators	Ms. Thurman introduced the new Senators: Ashley Abshire, Nathan Cochran, Samantha Combest, Delandual Conwell, Ed Fields, and Jamar Simmons
6. Update from Staff Senate Meet & Eat	Ms. Thurman presented a review of the Staff Senate Meet and Eat which was held on Friday, October 2, 2020: • At the meeting, ideas for staff senate projects were assigned to the respective committees • Ms. Thurman requested that the committees narrow down the ideas to their top three choices and asked new senators to join the committees of their choosing	• Ms. Combest asked to join the Staff Relations Committee and Mr. Fields asked to join the Staff Morale Committee
7. Announcement of New Pay Schedule	• Ms. Thurman reported that the new pay schedule only affects exempt employees. Exempt employees will now be paid once per month at the conclusion of the month.

	• Guest attendee Alicia Smith, Payroll Manager, clarified that exempt employees will be paid on the last business day of the month and stated that the payroll calendar is on KSU's website.
8. Report Out - Meeting with President Brown	• Ms. Thurman stated that a written summary of her meeting with President Brown was sent to the individuals who were senators at the time and that she would re-send the report for those who did not receive it. Her next meeting with President Brown is scheduled to occur on October 27th.
9. Questions	• Ms. Thurman entertained questions from the senators. Mr. Simmons and Mr. Conwell asked about the report outs from committees and Ms. Thurman stated that she needs a report on which projects were selected so she can update President Brown. Ms. Felder reminded everyone about flu shots and COVID tests occurring on campus.	• Ms. Thurman requested verbal reports from each of the committees on their activities
10. Adjournment	• Move to adjourn the October 13, 2020 Staff Senate Meeting	• Unanimously approved
