PROCESS:
General Requirements
Students transferring to KSU must submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions as part of the admissions process.
KSU accepts transfer credits earned at fully accredited institutions.
Grade and Credit Acceptance
KSU accepts transfer credits for courses in which a student earned a grade of "D" or better.
Exception: Transfer equivalents for ENG 101 and ENG 102 require a grade of "C" or better.
If a course is transferred with a "D" grade and that course is required for the student's major, minor, or area of specialization, the student must retake the course at KSU and earn a grade of "C" or better.
Credits that do not fulfill specific requirements but were earned with a "D" or better will be accepted as free electives.
Limitations
KSU will not grant upper-level credit for courses completed at a two-year junior or community college without validation from the respective academic department that the course is equivalent to an upper-level KSU course.
Residency Requirement: Regardless of the number of hours accepted for transfer, all candidates for a KSU undergraduate degree must complete 30 of their last 36 credit hours at Kentucky State University.
