Selective Travel Management
Hotel Process Simplified.
How Selective Travel Management will quality check hotels and recommendations
The reason for the change in our process is to streamline how we will conduct our hotel searches to ensure we fulfill our duty of care as a professional booker of travel, to be clear and concise in the way that we recommend and match hotels to you and to ensure that you receive the service you expect!
This process is a benchmark only based on %'s of the review sites on the day that you confirm your hotel. Please be aware as with all reviews they are subject to change and we cannot be held responsible for these changes after the booking has been completed!
The process is how we have standardised our hotel bookings across the company and how we communicate to our customers to ensure we deliver the highest level of customer service. All correspondence will be done via email to ensure that we are completing all of our necessary duty of care checks.
Remember that the final choice of where you want to stay is yours, we will simply provide you our recommendations
Our mantra for this process will be:
- We will not book you into a hotel if we would not stay in it ourselves.
- This process will be completed for all hotel searches; regardless of whether you, our customer, have provided the name of the hotel or we are sending you recommendations
- We will use our colleagues' personal experience and advice to help with unfamiliar destinations
- A variety of parameters will be checked when searching for hotels, not just the reviews but location, cost, cleanliness will also form part of the final recommendations we send back to you
- We will check the total number of reviews that are on the website and use this to gauge the quality of scores given (we will have more confidence if there is a large number of reviews, more accurate reflection of the hotel)
- We will also use your travelling scenario for example looking at hotels for solo travellers, female travellers and recommend based on the information that you provide us
- If you are in any doubt please check the reviews for yourself
The process Selective Travel Management have used is based on scores from a variety of review sites. We have devised a Red, Amber, Green colour system for hotel rating and recommendations.
Below is the icon system we have decided to use:
69% or below 70-74%
75% or above
The colour of the face and the \% given is how Selective Travel Management will rate and recommend the hotels.
The hotel rating and % will be correct at the time of quote.
All reviews are subjective and may change.
Below Average 69% or below
Satisfactory & Good
70-74%
- Below average
- Not recommended by us
- More bad than good reviews
- Will only be quoted if the customer requests
- Average hotel, average price, average location
- Will have some mixed reviews
Very Good & Excellent
75%+
- Good hotel, higher price, better location
- May still have mixed reviews but more positive than negative
- Will have a high ranking
If you find that after completing your booking you are not satisfied or the reviews have changed then normal change conditions apply.
