Upgrades included:
modified curbs, pedestrian islands, and medians
installed new pedestrian signals, ramps, and intersection lighting
added truck aprons (see posted images)
What are truck aprons and why are they colored red? Truck aprons slow down vehicles before turning onto a roadway and provide a safer environment for pedestrians and bicyclists. They are designed to allow the trailer of commercial vehicles to drive over the apron when making a right turn at an intersection. Truck aprons are colored red to provide enhanced visibility.
Construction is estimated to finish summer of 2022.
