RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SENIOR CENTER.

WHEREAS, a contract was previously awarded to Magic Touch Construction Company, Inc., for Improvements to the Senior Center; and

WHEREAS, the original contract for said improvements was in the amount of $207,300.00; and

WHEREAS, Change Order Number 1 was previously approved for a contract increase of $35,379.86; and

WHEREAS, the governing body wishes to authorize Change Order Number 2, which will result in an increase in the contract price of $4,385.42, based on supplemental work for the project in the amount of $6,038.82, less a $1,653.40 reduction, as shown on Schedule A attached hereto and made a part hereof; and

WHEREAS, Change Orders Number 1 and 2 amount to a 19.18% increase for a new total of $247,065.28; and

WHEREAS, Change Order Number 2 has been recommended by the Township Engineer; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body to authorize the execution of this change order.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the governing body of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

That the governing body does hereby authorize the execution of Change Order No. 2, which will result in an increase in the amount of $4,385.42 in the contract price,

based on supplemental work for the project as shown on Schedule A attached hereto and made a part hereof, which, together with Change Order No. 1, is a 19.18% increase for a new total of $247,065.28.

That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to, respectively, an addendum to the contract with Magic Touch Construction Company, Inc., in accordance with the provisions of this resolution.

That a Certificate of Availability of Funds executed by the Chief Financial Officer is annexed hereto. The following are the line item appropriations or ordinances which constitute the availability of funds for this contract: T-12-56-851-000-807

That a certified copy of this resolution, together with a copy of Change Order No. 2, be forwarded to the Chief Financial Officer, Township Engineer and Magic Touch Construction Company, Inc.
