RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2025 DISTRICTED DRIVING CRACKDOWN. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY., FROM THE U.S. DOT/NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000.00.
WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson Police Department is seeking authorization to apply for and accept the 2025 Distracted Driving Crackdown. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY, commencing April 1, 2025 through April 30, 2025 from the DOT/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; and
WHEREAS, the State would award a grant to the Township of Jackson in the amount of $7,000.00 for traffic enforcement during the thirty day period; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey the following:
- That the Jackson Township Police Department is authorized to make application for and accept the 2025 Distracted Driving Crackdown. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY in the amount of $7,000.00.
- The rate shall be $70.00 per hour.
- That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to the Grant Acceptance Conditions.
- That this resolution shall become effective immediately.
- That upon adoption of this resolution, the Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to Sgt. Robert Reiff, Thomas Lombarski and any other interested parties.
