TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 137-2025

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE 2025 DISTRICTED DRIVING CRACKDOWN. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY., FROM THE U.S. DOT/NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000.00.

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson Police Department is seeking authorization to apply for and accept the 2025 Distracted Driving Crackdown. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY, commencing April 1, 2025 through April 30, 2025 from the DOT/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; and

WHEREAS, the State would award a grant to the Township of Jackson in the amount of $7,000.00 for traffic enforcement during the thirty day period; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey the following:

  1. That the Jackson Township Police Department is authorized to make application for and accept the 2025 Distracted Driving Crackdown. U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY in the amount of $7,000.00.
  2. The rate shall be $70.00 per hour.
  3. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to the Grant Acceptance Conditions.
  4. That this resolution shall become effective immediately.
  5. That upon adoption of this resolution, the Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to Sgt. Robert Reiff, Thomas Lombarski and any other interested parties.
