RE: Response to Special Audit Report

Dear Auditor Harmon,

On March 22, we received from your office a Special Examination report for Kentucky State University covering the period the specified three-year period (2018 – 2021) with the expectation of a response from the University by 60 days to the 20 audit findings and 90 recommendations. Please accept the attached appendix as our response to the special examination findings and recommendations.

Again, I want to take the opportunity to thank you and your staff for your courtesy and professionalism throughout the process. Many of the issues and recommendations cited in the audit report parallel those identified by the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly (22 RS HB 250). As a result, several remedies are already completed or ongoing through implementing our KSU Intended Future Plan, which seeks to restore, realign, and reignite the promise of a sustainable future for Kentucky State University through improved and adherence to policies, processes, and practices and a culture of accountability.

Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your invaluable work, and we look forward to working together to enable an Intended Future for Kentucky State University.
