I. Call to Order

MINUTES *****

The Committee’s Chair, Mr. Stephen Mason, called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m.

II. Roll Call

Mr. Michael DeCourcy, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Search Committee Liaison, called roll:

Chair Stephen Mason Present

Regent Tammi Dukes, Co-Chair Present

Dr. Stephanie Mayberry Present

Dr. Herman Walston, Ed.D. Present

Mayor Layne Wilkerson Present

Dr. Chanzheng Wang, Ph.D. Present

Regent Savion Briggs Not Present

Ms. JaMeeca Alexander Not Present

Mr. Richard Graves Present

At least five (5) members were present so a quorum was established.

III. Approval of the Agenda

MOTION by Regent Walston:

Move the Committee to approve the Agenda of the April 21, 2023, meeting of the Presidential Search Committee.

Seconded by Regent Dukes and passed without dissent.

IV. Committee Update

Chair Mason stated that since the last meeting, a student forum was held that lasted 30-40 minutes.

V. Myers McRae Update

Next, Chair Mason reported that there would not be a Myers McRae update.

VI. Closed Session

Pursuant to KRS 61.810(1)(f), the Committee moved to a closed session to discuss personnel matters.

MOTION by Regent Walston:

Move the Committee to enter a closed session.

Seconded by Regent Dukes and passed without dissent.

VII. Next Meeting Date

When the Committee reconvened following the closed session, Chair Mason called for a motion to enter into an open session.

MOTION by Dr. Wang:

Move the Committee to enter into an open session.

Seconded by Regent Dukes and passed without dissent.

Chair Mason announced that no action was taken during the closed session, and further stated that the next meeting will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 3 p.m.

VIII. Adjournment

MOTION by Regent Walston:

Move the Committee to adjourn.

Seconded by Regent Dukes and passed without dissent.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
