RESOLUTION

Whereas, Kentucky State University's Spring Commencement Exercises are scheduled to take place on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Whereas, Kentucky State University has determined that the following individuals are deserving of an honorary degree:

  • Dr. Aaron Thompson, President of the Council on Postsecondary Education
  • Mr. Luther Deaton, President and CEO of Central Bank
  • Rev. C. B. Aiken, Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Bracttown
  • Nurse Virginia Allen, the last living nurse featured in “The Black Angels: The Untold Story of the Nurses Who Helped Cure Tuberculosis”

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the honorary degrees to be conferred by President Koffi C. Akakpo during the Spring Commencement are hereby approved.
