3. Campus Update by Dr. Koffi Akakpo.
Dr. Akakpo said because of the incident in December, they were concerned about enrollment. However, enrollment is up. Last fall enrollment was 2,838 and this morning it was 2,952.
Dr. Heather Bigard said the FY24 single audit โ€“ the A133 is now officially complete and filed. They are well on their way into the FY25 audit that has already begun and are on a timeline in hopes of completing that in March. At the next meeting, she will be bringing forward a proposed amended budget to reflect the changes in enrollment as well as new projections for the remainder of the fiscal year.
Regent Hatchett had a question on insurance liability coverage.
Dr. Bigard responded that she would be happy to provide a full report on all the lines of insurance. She said she had just met with the broker about a week ago and the state risk office to learn the pieces and parts that they carry related to fire and casualties.
Regent Moyer questioned if the audit itself the only thing that SACS is expecting of us between now and the time they review us for getting off probation or are there other things that we need to provide to them.
Dr. Akakpo responded that we need to complete 2025. Hopefully get it done by March 15 so it can be on the agenda for the June meeting. He talked to the President and he agreed to do that if we get it done.
Regent Obielodan had a question about the general health of the audit.
Dr. Bigard said we ended up with 20 findings that gives you a measure, compared to 31 in the 202323 audit, so there has been an improvement. Most of them are repeat findings, which was expected. There are a couple of additional findings related to HERP funds.
Regent Moseley asked if the insurance information is something she would get to them in the next 30 days or can he get a timeline of when they are going to get it.
Dr. Bigard said she should have that shortly and as early as beginning of next week.
Regent Moseley had a question on enrollment numbers going up. He asked if those numbers were based on actual students physically on campus, and evening students and also high school students that attend dual credit classes.
Dr. Akakpo said it includes everything. He also clarified that some high school students attending are degree seeking students that are taking credit to earn their associate degree.
Regent Hatchett asked if online students are reflected in that enrollment and Dr. Akakpo answered yes.
Dr. Michael Dailey said there are over 400 online students and he anticipates getting more in the C-term in March. He also said we received 68-70 new students this Spring

Regent Hatchett asked if the 2,838 from 2025 also included online students and Dr. Dailey responded yes.
Regent Hatchett asked additional questions about comparing then and now online. Dr. Akakpo stated the number of students was 1,690 in Fall of 2023 compared to 2,838 in Fall of 2025.
Regent Moyer, Regent Moseley and Regent Grimshaw had questions on the number of students in the dorms now compared to prior to the incident. Dr. Dailey said the number was not readily available.
Regent Obielodan discussed the enrollment problem and international student enrollment decline. Dr. Dailey and Dr. Akakpo responded.
Dr. Obielodan had a question on the 20 findings triggering changes. Dr. Bigard does not anticipate any other triggers as a result of these findings. She said the corrected action plan outlines what they have already done to address each of the findings. Dr. Obielodan inquired on obtaining a list of the findings and Dr. Bigard said they received the audit yesterday.
Regent Hatchett asked if the Regents could get more concrete numbers on international students to see how it has been going in the last four years or so. Also wants to know the impact of the current federal administration's policies on ICE had on our community of international students.
Dr. Akakpo said the slow down is the number of GRA issued this spring and they slowed down due to funding. Regent Hatchett responded as well.
Dr. Bigard said there are 976 residential students at this time.
Regent Moyer asked how many were there in the fall. They are down by 20 and it was 996 in the fall.
There were 30 students who qualified to graduate this past December and per Dr. Dailey, between 20-25 graduated.
