OPENING COMMENTS BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL:

COUNCILMAN BORRELLI- Wished all the best to students of Jackson who are starting school soon. Supports the parental rights of parents regarding Sex Education in schools and feels that parents should be the ones to bring up the discussion with their children as the State refuses to leave that topic with parents, he argues parents to voice their concerns to the School Board. Jackson Day will be held on Sunday, October 2nd from 2 pm to 8 pm, there will be activities for all ages and ending the evening with fireworks. Vendors are still needed, if you are interested please contact Jackson Township Recreation at 732-928-1260. Our First Aid Squad is looking for Medical Technicians and drivers; you can apply online at JTFAS.org or contact 732-928-0278. Station 55 is looking for Fire Volunteers, stop by any Wednesday night at 7:30 PM to speak to a member or contact 732-378-9566. Take care Jackson residents and enjoy the rest of the summer.

COUNCILMAN CHISHOLM- Wished Councilman Sauickie the best of luck in his new position as our Assemblyman-select New Jersey State for District 12. Looks forward to seeing residents at Jackson Day on Sunday, October 2nd. Rova Park Day will be held on Saturday

September 25th, they will be reviewing the plans and the history of Rova. Along with Councilman Borrelli, he is in disagreement with the State on how they are imposing their agenda and how they are trying to enforce it on New Jersey State residents. Wished everyone a good evening.

COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT KERN- he asked Administrator Wall to look into the lights around the affordable areas of Solar Avenue and the area around Veterans Memorial. There are significant number of street lights that are out and need to be replaced. He asked Administrator Wall to confirm if it is the Township's responsibility or an association. Also, the south western section of Jackson Gardens regarding water from the sprinklers are turning the sidewalks leaving an orange rust color and he feels that the concrete needs to be redone in this area and would like BA Wall to address this issue. He read into record the letter of resignation that Councilman Sauickie gave to Deputy Clerk Moss. He wished Councilman Sauickie all the best in his new position.

COUNCIL PRESIDENT FLEMMING- Congratulated Councilman Sauickie on his new role. All Jackson Fire Districts are looking for volunteers. With regards to the resignation of Councilman Sauickie, the Council is asking for resumes for petition of Council they need to be submitted to the Clerk's office on August 26th by 4 pm.
