This project replaced the existing bridge on 9th Street South (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South) between 6th Avenue South and 7th Avenue South in St. Petersburg.
The new bridge has three 11' wide lanes with 8' shoulders and 10' wide sidewalks on each side of the bridge. The 42" sanitary sewer line, 24" and 8" water lines were also replaced, as well as a new drainage system and a new street lighting system. Also, the pylons from the original bridge were reinstalled on the new bridge.
This project is part of the FDOT's Off System Bridge Replacement program.
