This project was completed in May 2020.
Improvements under this contract include constructing new rest areas and new parking lots with LED lighting at the north (Pinellas County) and south (Manatee County) ends of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
The North (Pinellas County) Rest Area is closed until construction of the new facility is complete. The South (Manatee County) rest area will remain open until construction at the Pinellas County rest area is complete. One of the Rest Areas will remain open at all times.
