TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 157-2025

RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AGREEMENT FOR COUNTY ROAD #3 (ROUTE 547/SOUTH HOPE CHAPEL ROAD) AND FREMONT AVENUE, BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF OCEAN AND THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON

WHEREAS, traffic conditions exist at the intersection of County Road #3 (Route 547/South Hope Chapel Road) and Fremont Avenue, in the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, which require the installation of a traffic signal in order to improve safety and to expedite the safe movement and conduct of pedestrian and vehicular traffic; and

WHEREAS, the County of Ocean has performed an investigation and indicated its willingness to install a traffic control signal at said intersection; and

WHEREAS, the County of Ocean has proposed a form of agreement pertaining to installation and maintenance of said traffic signal; and

WHEREAS, the governing body desires to authorize the execution of the traffic signal agreement for County Road #3 (Route 547/South Hope Chapel Road) and Fremont Avenue with the County of Ocean.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the governing body of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

That the Township hereby authorizes the execution of a traffic signal agreement with the County of Ocean with regard to the traffic signal to be located at County Road #3 (Route 547/South Hope Chapel Road) and Fremont Avenue. The form of said agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Schedule A.

That the Mayor is authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to the traffic signal agreement with the County of Ocean for the traffic improvements at County Road #3 (Route 547/South Hope Chapel Road) and Fremont Avenue.

That a certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Ocean County Engineer and the Township Engineer.
