TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 186-2025 AUTHORIZE THE TAX COLLECTOR TO PREPARE AND MAIL ESTIMATED TAX BILLS IN ACCORDANCE WITH P.L. 1994 C. 72
WHEREAS, The Ocean County Board of Taxation is not able to certify Jackson Township's tax rate as the State did not have an approved budget for as of June 27th, or has not approved the various local budgets to the County, and the Tax Collector may be unable to mail the Townships' tax bills on a timely basis; and
WHEREAS, the Tax Collector in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer has computed an estimated tax levy in accordance with N.J.S.A. 54:4-66.3, and they have both signed a certification showing the tax levies and rates for the previous year, and the range of permitted estimated tax levies; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 72, P.L. 1994, the Township does not need the Director of the Division of Local Government Services to approve the estimated tax levy when it falls between 95% & 105% listed below. Estimated Tax Bills will enable the Township to meet its financial obligations, maintain the tax collection rate, and provide uniformity for tax payments and save the unnecessary cost of interest on borrowing.

The estimated base tax levy for 2025 is hereby set at 187.538.819.14, to be billed along with the levies of Fire Districts 2-4 which are 2,786,780.00, 5,399,215.25 and 2,835,323.77 respectively.
In accordance with law, the Third Installment taxes shall not be subject to interest until the later of August 10^{th} or the twenty-fifth calendar day after the date the estimated tax bills are mailed. The estimated tax bills shall contain a notice specifying the date on which interest will begin to accrue, calculated from August 1^{st}, the Third Quarter due date until received by the Tax Collector.
