In the preparation of this Adaptation Strategy, a multi-disciplined climate adaptation team was assembled across all functions of Cork County Council. This team comprised of staff members from various departments, each with their own expertise and knowledge of climate change effects in their respective areas. A number of workshops and meetings were held to assess Cork County Council's adaptation baseline and identify vulnerabilities and risks to projected climatic events. In addition to the above, regard was also had to the various Cork County Council policy and planning documents. Other sources of climate related data such as Met Eireann, Climatelreland.ie, EPA, Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy (MaREI), floodmaps.ie were used to inform the adaptation process.
