For every £1 rent collected:
Director's pay (part of services and support costs)
38p invested in homes
We are open about how we spend money and how senior leaders are paid. Amounts paid per home:
Repairs and maintenance, including routine fixes and larger scale responsive and planned maintenance works, and safety checks.
23p for services and support
Day-to-day tenancy services, including housing and neighbourhood services, customer services, communities, welfare and tenancy support, staffing at all levels and running costs.
Highest paid director (per home) £32.41
Total director pay (per home) £113.62
Cost of managing and maintaining each home
Social housing cost (per home) £5,038
9p reinvested directly into building new affordable housing
This covers everything we do, from service charges and repairs and maintenance through to investing in new homes, communities, neighbourhood services and more.
30p paid for borrowing used to provide homes
This is the amount paid in return for the money we have borrowed to build homes - we pay our lenders for the use of their money, just as you pay rent for the use of your home. While some of the cost of new homes is funded by grants or shared ownership sales, the remainder is funded by the rent we collect. Without borrowing, it would take us years to save up the money needed to build new homes - this allows us to provide homes sooner, reducing the housing waiting list, and use the rent we collect to pay for the money we borrowed.
