The Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BSW) Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The principal objectives of the School of Social Work are to prepare undergraduate students for generalist/entry-level professional social work practice in public and private sectors, and to prepare students for continued professional growth including graduate social work education. The curriculum utilizes a culturally inclusive and social justice infused social work pedagogical approach to prepare culturally competent social workers capable of intervening and working with systems of all sizes and resolving problems that particularly affect African American children, families, and males within the context of family, community, and policy. BSW graduates are prepared to recognize and impact social and economic injustice issues at the local, regional, national, and international level.
