Transforming older homes for the future
We've continued to replace older independent living schemes with modern, energy-efficient homes that better meet the needs of customers.
This year, we completed the redevelopment of the former Ryegrass scheme in Woodstock, creating 37 new apartments for people aged 55 and over – all for social rent at around 60% of the market rent value.
Built in partnership with Feltham Construction Ltd and with support of a £4.07m grant from Homes England, the new homes are modern, energy efficient and made for comfortable living with features including balconies.
The apartments are split across four separate buildings and, following a suggestion from Woodstock Town Council, these have been named Ballard House, Grierson House, Marshall House and Shelmerdine House after four authors who have compiled historical books of Woodstock.
We're now continuing to plan for redevelopment of other former sheltered housing in West Oxfordshire - in North Leigh, Eynsham and Charlbury.
