Abstract

My project was done to show the importance of computer science, including C++ and a web-based programming interface called scratch. Before starting the code development, we went over the basics of computer programming and learned about different programming languages. After being introduced to scratch, I was given the choice to continue with programming or developing a game using scratch. I chose to make a game to show how it could be useful for others and to highlight the skills needed. I then came up with different game ideas including games geared toward education. I learned to develop all the different scripts needed and other useful skills such as planning and designing the code before implementation. I ended up with a successful game with only a few bugs that are being corrected.

Introduction

In today's world, it can often be assumed that making a game is easy, but as I have figured out throughout this process, it is far from easy. I’ve learned a lot about many different ways to create games, websites, and using C++. My main focus has been on working on my own game developed using many different methods and tools to complete the project. To create my game I used a website called scratch, which allows you to create your own games, animations, and stories. I chose to make an educational game, which allows students to learn multiplication in fun way to encourage continued use.
