For my research project, I was paired with Dr. Chi Shen for the Computer Science and Programming research team. We built a website through HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) to display our experience here in the SAP program. We also used a computer programming site called "Scratch" to create stories, animations, and games to understand the basics of coding and scripting. Our project was to script and code a video game.
Within the next year, 2016, over four thousand jobs will be available within the computer science field (GeekWire). Our objective was to simply use script and code to make a video game with the beginning knowledge of programming we possessed. This past week and a half, it's been a pleasure working with Dr. Chi Shen and Dr. Jens Hannemann to enhance my knowledge in computer programming and problem solving throughout the process of creating the game. We used a programming website called "Scratch" to build the video game, while the web-based hypertext markup language interface was used to generate space for posting SAP material such as pictures and text. These tools are free and openly available to the public for research and non-
