Outcomes
Preliminary results after 30 days of the present feeding trial indicates that microalgae Schitzochyrium have the potential to develop into a sustainable alternative to fish oil for use in aquafeed. This research may provide valuable information on alternative nutritional technologies to replace fish oil for Pacific white shrimp that currently represents a significant part of total feed cost for shrimp producers.
