Together, these partnerships are creating practical routes to market, strengthening capability and increasing Scotland's visibility with global investors.

Boosting Capital Investment

In a more competitive global market, success in attracting inward investment is defined by quality, pace and impact. High-value investment decisions are complex and competitive, often involving multiple decision-makers and long-term commitments. Against this backdrop, Scotland continues to secure investment that drives jobs, innovation and long-term value. A strong example this year is continued momentum at Prestwick, including Ryanair's expansion, which will create 450 highly skilled engineering and mechanic jobs and reinforce Scotland's position in aviation and aerospace.

What increasingly determines success is not only our core strengths - skills, infrastructure and innovation - but the quality of service we provide. Pace, responsiveness and alignment across partners are often what makes the difference. This allows us to bring partners together to shape collective solutions - from major place-based opportunities such as Grangemouth to new approaches supporting internationalisation and access to capital.

Scotland's proposition is strong

Scotland’s strengths across high-growth sectors - from life sciences and fintech to advanced technologies such as quantum and artificial intelligence - position us well to attract high-quality investment.

We have also continued to simplify Scottish Enterprise using technology and data to enhance both the experience of businesses and the efficiency of our organisation. Strong cost discipline ensures we remain focused on what matters most.

Looking ahead, competition for investment will intensify. But our direction is clear: back ambitious businesses to innovate and scale internationally, transforming the economy and delivering a more successful, greener and fairer Scotland.
