Colleague Conduct and Engagement

People are at the heart of Scottish Enterprise. The Colleague Journey, available on the Scottish Enterprise intranet, clearly sets out colleagues' responsibilities and our expectations in relation to behaviours, conduct and values. It is reviewed and updated as required to ensure ongoing legal compliance and alignment with best practice.

We actively listen to colleagues through engagement surveys, discussion groups, the work of My Community groups and regular check-in conversations, using this insight to shape a positive, inclusive and engaging workplace. We also work in close partnership with our recognised trade unions to support effective engagement and meaningful dialogue.

Speak Up (Whistleblowing) Arrangements

Scottish Enterprise encourages colleagues to speak up about any concerns of wrongdoing. Our arrangements, which include a Speak Up (Whistleblowing) Policy and regular reporting, have been developed with reference to good practice and are formally considered by the Audit and Risk Committee on an annual basis.

Digital, Data and IT Services

The Digital, Data and IT (DDIT) directorate is responsible for enabling the delivery of Scottish Enterprise's Digital, Data and AI Strategy (2025 - 2028). The strategy is focused on the three key pillars of being Data Driven, Customer Centric, and Enabling Colleagues. Much of this work is delivered in partnership with business teams, for example the Enterprise Resource Planning system replacement is aligned with the Financial and People strategies, and the Customer Engagement Platform is delivered in collaboration with the Customer Engagement Strategy team.

DDIT delivers this in partnership with Enterprise Information Services (EIS), a shared service which provides IT services to Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise. EIS provide network, end-user computer, mobile, partnership wide security systems, service desk functionality, hosting and cloud services. Cyber security responsibilities are shared between Scottish Enterprise and EIS, and we continue to hold Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Disaster recovery, business continuity, and cyber security readiness tests are regularly carried out.
