Scottish Enterprise Board members comply with the Scottish Government's 'On Board: A Guide for Board Members of Public Bodies in Scotland' which sets out the values and behaviours expected. This is supplemented by compliance with the Scottish Enterprise Board's Code of Conduct which reinforces these values and sets out how these will be applied within Scottish Enterprise.
Our values play a central role in how we deliver our strategic ambitions. They shape expectations for behaviour, decision making and performance across Scottish Enterprise.
Organisational policies, set out within the Colleague Journey, define clear expectations for all colleagues and are underpinned by our values of being impactful, ambitious and dynamic. These policies are kept under regular review to ensure they remain relevant, legally compliant and aligned with best practice.
Key policies, including the Code of Conduct, Dignity at Work and Diversity policies, set clear standards of behaviour and conduct. Our Counter Fraud and Speak Up (Whistleblowing) policies support colleagues to raise concerns with confidence and explain how these are investigated.
We place equal importance on how we achieve our goals as on what we deliver. This is reflected in our performance management approach, My Performance, which asks colleagues with People Managers to set objectives that address both outcomes and the behaviours aligned to our values, supporting delivery of our strategic direction.
Scottish Enterprise complies with the applicable principles and guidance set out in the Scottish Public Finance Manual for the proper handling and reporting of public funds. Scottish Enterprise also operates in accordance with the Framework Document agreed with the Scottish Government, which sets out the key roles and responsibilities of the Scottish Enterprise Board, Chair and Chief Executive/Accountable Officer. It devolves powers to the Scottish Enterprise Board and Chief Executive. Our decision-making processes are underpinned by our internal delegated authority arrangements and clear roles and responsibilities.
