Scottish Enterprise undertakes the highest standards of corporate governance and has
Codes of Conduct in place for Board members and for all colleagues. In compliance with
the Ethical Standards in Public Life etc (Scotland) Act 2000, Scottish Enterprise's Code of Conduct for Board members sets out the roles and responsibilities of Board members and
is published on our website, together with the Board members' registers of interests. The
Register of Interests includes details of any financial interests declared, employment and
appointments, personal interests and any other relevant interests.
The Code of Conduct for Scottish Enterprise employees requires all colleagues, including members of our Executive Leadership Team, to declare any interest which may give rise to a conflict. This enables any actual, potential or perceived conflicts to be recorded and managed.
Under section 30(1) of the Enterprise and New Towns (Scotland) Act 1990, Scottish Enterprise is required to prepare a statement of accounts for each financial year in the form, and on the basis, determined by the Scottish Ministers. The accounts are prepared on an accruals basis and must give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of Scottish Enterprise at the year-end of its net expenditure, statement of financial position and cash flows for the financial year.
