As the Chairperson of the institution's largest and most diverse academic division, I served as the instructional leader for a unit consisting of the Departments of Music, Music Education, University Bands, University Choirs, Opera Music Theater, Speech and Communications, Journalism, Theater, Studio Art and Art Education. I exercised direct supervisory responsibilities for 32 accomplished and dedicated faculty members, as well as 7 support staff members.
I served as a primary resource for faculty, students, parents, and staff and fostered academic excellence, monitored and coordinated curriculum, instruction, schedules, budget activities, policies, and provided instructional leadership in curricular development, assessment enhancement and implementation of policy.
