BACKGROUND: The pedestrian walkway project managed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet did not include signage or any type of university identification. With the completion of the walkway and the execution of the memorandum of agreement, Kentucky State University can begin a project to attach signage to increase the visibility of the university brand.
SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES: Finance and Administration Cabinet staff handle design team selection, bidding and procurement, and contract administration for this project as the scope exceeds $40,000.
ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC GOALS:
Goal 1: Enhance Student Enrollment, Improve Student Life and Engagement, and Improve Student Advising and Career Development.
Goal 4: Enhance the Impact of External Relations and Development
Increases the visibility of the university by taking the opportunity to brand university facilities.

PROGRAM IMPLICATIONS: N/A
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: Anticipated cost to apply signage and lighting to both sides of the pedestrian walkway is approximately $80,000. Budget for the project will be from the facilities budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the project to install signage and lighting on the pedestrian walkway.
