ACTION ITEM:
Approval to enter into stakeholder agreement with the Kentucky Small Business Development Center.
FACTS:
On behalf of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Land Grant Program is requesting the approval to use USDA federal extension funds to enter into a second-year stakeholder agreement with the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. This agreement would engage one full-time Kentucky SBDC business coach to provide coaching, consulting, advising, counseling, and training services to start-up businesses, existing businesses, and entrepreneurs in the region.
BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS:
USDA federal extension funds in the amount of $50,000 would be used to hire one full-time SBDC business coach.
RECOMMENDATION:
Interim President Ronald A. Johnson recommends that the Board of Regents approves the stakeholder agreement with the SBDC.
MOTION:
Approve the stakeholder agreement with the Kentucky SBDC.
