| Overall Per HB 250, the performance review of faculty and staff must be completed within 1 year of the effective date of the Act, or April 2023 with some exceptions for tenured faculty if there isn’t enough information available. We understand that this policy must extend beyond that time frame, but that directive should be recognized in each policy. After this first review we can move to the more regular review schedule, but we must first meet the requirements of HB 250. | In an effort to create a process that accurately assesses faculty performance we are proposing a new policy independent of the past KSU Handbook evaluation policy. | https://www.kysu.edu/documents/faculty-senate/faculty_handbook_august_2019_update.pdf | All faculty performance/review appendices and sections are removed and revised with current professional expectations by discipline following EKU’s model as recommended. Faculty discipline committees will research and provide artifacts of updated publications/scholarly refereed benchmarks by September 15st. |
| Faculty evaluation in teaching must include an assessment of credit hour production and other performance | In our new performance policy there will be an equation assessing the total number of students earning credit out of total |
