4.2. We understand from discussions with UoM that they are assessing the redevelopment of Owen's Park which would replace 1,071 mothballed PBSA bedspaces and also lead to a net increase of up to 700 bedspaces, albeit we have assumed half that amount at 350 for the purpose of this study and this is included within the total figure provided immediately above. Furthermore, UoM is assessing options for additional PBSA bedspaces across their campus, which is not currently included. This could include the re-purposing of buildings (into PBSA) as part of a wider estates review in the context of post pandemic hybrid teaching / working models, which continues to evolve the way in which the University estate is used.
