# JACKSON TOWNSHIP COMMISSION FOR THE DISABLED / HANDICAPPED MEETING OF AUGUST 19, 2026 MINUTES

Co-Chairperson N. Janoczkin called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm followed by a flag salute.

Present: A. Janoczkin, N. Janoczkin, S. Fries, D. Henning, M. Losito, J. Ocasio, S. Iorio, K. Iorio, A. Berkovich, S. Hollander, K. LoCasio-Lundgren

Absent: K.Cladek, J.Testa, T. Kelley, V.Cucuzza

July 15, 2026 Meeting Minutes – Motion to approve, S. Fries, S. Hollander, second

Helping Hands – Interviews are on-going for the open position. Discuss poll results for the date change and the first 2 weeks of December at the Jackson Library during Toyland activities.

Ceramics – The 2026/2027 flyer has been approved by Grace and sent to the Commission for review on 6/19/2026. Yearly budget target: $2,200 for September to June 2027. $836.07 estimated remaining balance for the 2026/2026 ceramics season.

 Chair Yoga – Thursday, July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30 from 6:15pm – 7pm.  Chair: A. Janoczkin. Discuss the amount of 10 received for 4 weeks of classes. Necole has offered Fall/Winter sessions; decide on a date and schedule it once determined.

Prom Night - Saturday July 18th from 5pm- 9pm. Chair: A. Janoczkin and S. Fries. Committee: M. Losito, S.Iorio, J.Ocasio and K.Cladek.150 MAX Headcount for the event. Yearly budget target: 3,500.00; Over budget of 147.00 Under the Sea theme. Headcount for caterer is 138. There were 130 in attendance (44 clients total) loss of 160.00. The total expense is 3,503.54; 42.75 from the Dollar Tree, 3.79 from Shop-Rite, 627.00 from Amazon, 950.00 for the DJ, 2,760.00 for caterer. 960.00 received from registration.

Challenger Bowling – Friday nights starting July 17 - August 21 from 6 – 8:30pm. Yearly budget target: $1,30.00. Chairs: D. Henning and A. Berkovich. Pizza was ordered for the party for a total of 12 pies; $156.00 plus soda. The final expense TBD on Friday. 30 clients registered and $545.00 has been received thru registration.

Blue Claws – Sunday August 9, 2026 at 1:05 pm at First Energy Ball Park. Chair: A. Janoczkin. There are 34 registered, 14 clients; 30 actually attended and 13 clients total. Fee as $19.00 per person. Total expense is $437.00. $209.00 received from registration and $646 have been spent on tickets.

Bocce Ball August 22nd – September 12th Elaine Westgate is the instructor for the event. Chairs: A. Janoczkin and S. Iorio. Flyer was sent 7/24/2026 and 11 have registered (6 clients).

Jackson Day August 23rd (Rain Date August 30th). Chairs: S. Fries and S. Hollander. Basketball Clinic with Sarah Porter and the college team will be in attendance. A. Janoczkin will oversee the hour.

Challenger Soccer – Saturday mornings September 19 – October 31st 9:30am – 11am. Chairs: M. Losito and K. Cladek. Yearly budget: 400.00. October 10, 2026 has been cancelled and season extended another session for October 31, 2026; approved by Recreation Department. Shirts for soccer and signage have been reviewed. Soccer ball order received from Amazon for 43.99. There are 8 registered players and 16 registered buddies.

Halloween Party – Sunday October 25th 12:30 – 4PM at the Senior Center. Chair: D. Henning and M. Losito. Harry Potter Theme. Oliverie Funeral Home has agreed to participate again this year. Waiting for Jackson Police Department to respond to invitation. Full sheet cake is being donated and M. Losito will pick up the cake from Shop-Rite the morning of the event. Cake is marble and a demon filling. Bette Hromiko is donating a petting farm. 10 parking spaces closest to the garden hose. Fina purchase list of Amazon items to be ordered for the party.

Holiday Caroling – Saturday December 5th, 2026 Town Hall from 4 – 8pm. Lighting of tree ceremony from 4:30/5pm. Santa will be in attendance from 4-6pm. Need to schedule some practice sessions; see attached song booklet for review. Red & White carnations received and will be distributed with booklets.

Holiday Party – Sunday December 6th, 2026 AMVETS Route 571 Jackson. A. Janoczkin confirmed venue on May 8th with the AMVETS manager, Debbie. Decision of new vendor; Lucky Strike Café for catering. Yearly budget target: 4,500.00. Invitation to DJ Rob and his family of 6- vote for decision. Order of 250 admission tickets in red; scheduled to be delivered by August 21, 2026.

Movie Morning – Saturday January 9, 2027 – AMC Movie Theatre in Freehold Yearly budget Target: TBD Jumanji Open World – December 25th opening date. Vote needed.
