(b) Each assistant coach shall receive a bonus in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000).
In any contract year in which Coach is named SIAC “Coach of the Year” by the SIAC Conference, Coach shall receive a bonus in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000).
All performance-based incentives are contingent upon Coach's actual participation in, and coaching of, the Football Team for the particular event subject to a bonus.
KSU shall pay Coach all athletic or academics-related bonuses earned under this Agreement, if any, within ninety (90) days of the end of the spring semester, once all grades and the ASR report has been received by the NCAA.
KSU shall pay all other bonuses to Coach within ninety (90) days of the conclusion of the Football Team's season.
All such bonus payments shall be subject to regular payroll withholdings and shall be made through KSU's regular payroll process.
In the event that any future or amended state or federal law, rule, or regulation, or any NCAA or SIAC rule or regulation, should (1) prohibit the payment of any listed bonus, (2) render any such bonus illegal or ineffectual, or (3) subject KSU to a penalty or assessment or violation of law if such bonus were to be paid, KSU will, to the extent possible, revise such bonus or substitute an alternative incentive payment that would allow for a similar economic benefit to be provided to Coach while preserving for KSU as much of the bargained-for institutional benefit as reasonably possible.
All bonuses shall vest upon being earned or achieved (even if payable at a later date). In the event of termination of Coach's employment (except for termination with cause), all such vested amounts shall be promptly paid after such termination.
Coach may, at his discretion, employ the following personnel:
Assistant Coaches (6), pursuant to the approved budget; and
Head Football Team Equipment Manager, pursuant to the approved budget.
Termination for Cause. If Coach fails to fulfill his obligations under this Agreement properly and on time, or otherwise violates any provision of this Agreement, the Athletic Director may revoke this Agreement by written notice to Coach. The notice shall specify the acts or omissions relied upon as cause for termination. Termination for cause ends all employment and compensation obligations under the Agreement. During his term of employment, Coach shall keep KSU apprised of information regarding his current home address.
