ACTION ITEM:

Approval to Increase Per Diem Rates

FACTS:

The University’s current per diem rates are $50 for high-rate areas and $38 for low-rate areas. These are both below the rates for agencies of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and other public universities within the Commonwealth. Therefore, the University is requesting to increase its per diem rates so that they are in line with those of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS:

If the University adopts the per diem rates of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the per diem rate for high-cost areas will be $60, and the per diem rate for low-cost areas will be $50.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Koffi C. Akakpo recommends that the Board of Regents approve the new per diem rates.

Approve the new per diem rates.
