ACTION ITEM:
Approval of the Academic Services Building (ASB) Roof and Windows Project
FACTS:
- The Academic Services Building (ASB) has a roof that has exceeded its useful life, as well as windows and window seals that are failing.
- These issues have caused water infiltration in multiple areas of the building.
- This project will:
- oReplace the roof
- oReplace windows where necessary
- oCompletely seal all windows
- Approximately $500,000 remains in the Roof Repair and Replacement Pool authorized during the 2020 legislative session, and it will be used to fund this project.
- Construction is planned to begin in early 2025.
BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS:
- The current budget for this project is $1,500,000.
- Additional funding will come from the University's 2024–2026 state bond-funded asset preservation funds, which no longer require a matching contribution.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Koffi C. Akakpo recommends that the Board of Regents approve the ASB Roof and Windows Project.
