ACTION ITEM:
Approval of Improvements to Campus Walkways and Miscellaneous Repairs
FACTS:
Phase 1 of the Walkways project began in May 2024, focusing on replacing sidewalks and handrails in specific areas.
Phase 2 will build upon that work by replacing additional sidewalks, stairs, and handrails that have failed or become unsafe.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025.
BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS:
The current budget for this project is $1,000,000.
Funding will come from the University's 2024–2026 state bond-funded asset preservation funds, which no longer require a matching contribution.
RECOMMENDATION:
President Koffi C. Akakpo recommends that the Board of Regents approve the Campus Walkways and Miscellaneous Repairs.
