ACTION ITEM:

Approval of Leap Evaluation Consulting Contract Expenditures

FACTS:

• In the summer of 2024, KSU was awarded its largest standalone grant of $7,000,000 by the National Science Foundation.
• Pursuant to that grant, KSU will conduct a project titled “Driving AgTech Research and Education in Kentucky (DARE KY).”
• An independent evaluator will need to perform an assessment of the project.
• Leap Evaluation Consulting, LLC will track ongoing project activity and performance metrics, provide recommendations and feedback to project leads, and provide a comprehensive annual evaluation report.
• The contract will be effective from February 2025 through September 2028.

BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS:

• KSU will pay Leap Evaluation Consulting a total of $259,255, or $64,813.75 per year.
• This contract is entirely grant-funded.

RECOMMENDATION:

President Koffi C. Akakpo recommends that the Board of Regents approve the Leap Evaluation Consulting contract expenditures.
