POLICY STATEMENT: Adjunct or full-time faculty overload compensation for instructional assignments is determined by course credit hours, enrollment, faculty rank, faculty contractual obligation, instructional mode and timing. Compensation is provided only for instructional duties performed outside of the regular contractual obligations for full-time faculty and outside of standard working hours for staff. For full-time faculty, this applies to teaching assignments that exceed their contractual teaching load. For staff, compensation is limited to instructional assignments conducted beyond their regular work schedule. All compensation is subject to institutional guidelines, approval processes, and established timelines.
Instructional Assignment: A teaching responsibility assigned to a staff/faculty member, either within or beyond their contractual load.
Overload: Instructional duties assigned beyond a full-time faculty member's expected teaching load.
Sliding Scale Compensation: A proportional pay model based on student enrollment below the minimum threshold.
Standard Workday: The hours defined in a faculty member's employment contract during which regular duties are performed.
Requests for overload or adjunct teaching assignments should be determined at least one month prior to the start of the semester for which the assignment is requested. This advance planning ensures sufficient time for review, approval, and integration into the academic schedule in accordance with institutional guidelines. Payment requests
