The intent of the green infrastructure requirement is to mimic the natural hydrologic cycle. To do so, the rules require stormwater water runoff to be treated near the source with distributed and small-scale (limited contributory drainage area) green infrastructure BMPs. Small-scale GI BMPs are achieved through the contributory drainage area limitations. The proposed BMP's are considered green infrastructure under BMP manual 9.2 Dry Wells and 9.8 Small Scale infiltration basins.
A groundwater mounding analysis was performed to confirm that the ground water mound associated with the infiltration basins will not impact the operation of the basins. As the basins are designed to infiltrate the 100 year storm events the mounding analysis was performed based on the full 100 year exfiltration volume.
Separate mounding analysis were performed for the surface basin, and of the subsurface basin. The highest SHWT of 89.0 was utilized for groundwater mounding calculations
| Basin | Mound Height | Peak Mound elevation | basin bottom elevation |
|---|
| Surface #1 | 5.901 | 94.901 | 95.00 |

| Surface #2 | 1.941 | 90.941 | 91.00 |

| Subsurface ( LOT 30.08) | 1.309 | 90.309 | 90.50 |

The storm sewers were designed to convey the 25-year storm event. Storm sewers were sized using the rational method and manning equation. See appendix for calculations.
Soil erosion and sediment control measures are incorporated into the design including silt fence, inlet protection, and stabilized construction access
A scour hole has been designed for the outfall into the basin in accordance with the methods prescribed in the Standards for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control in New Jersey.
Downstream stability is met by meeting peak flow reductions.
For point of discharge stability analysis, a failure analysis has been performed assuming the surface infiltration basin does not function and is full to the lowest orifice. The proposed basin(s) discharge to a proposed bubbler outlet which represents a stable discharge
The stormwater management system has been designed to manage the increase in runoff associated with the proposed development. The design conforms to the Township, NJDEP, and Soil Conservation District standards.
