SECTION 5: APPENDIX
Q13: Indicate the top five parks amenities which you would be likely to utilize
Q13 Key Insights
The data suggests a strong preference for amenities that promote outdoor activities, fitness, and nature experiences. Walking and hiking trails, natural areas, and fitness facilities are particularly popular among the respondents, indicating a desire for opportunities to engage in physical activity and enjoy natural surroundings within park environments. Small neighborhood parks also placed highly across all respondent categories.
While younger age groups show a preference for indoor activities and community centers, the interests diversify as the age increases, with a notable interest in community gardens, outdoor pools, and natural parks. The data indicates that as age increases, there's a shift towards outdoor amenities and natural areas, as well as facilities that cater to community gatherings and fitness.
While aligned with the overall consensus, respondents in the 34 to 45 age group display a higher affinity towards pools (indoor and outdoor) and playground amenities – this tracks with their likelihood of children present in the household. Focusing on all households with children present, pools, splash pads, and playgrounds all rank highly.
Households without children present display a higher-than-average affinity for indoor and outdoor fitness and the importance of a dedicated community center.
