The west section begins at the Lowell Avenue and continues west to Peninsula Drive. The right-of-way for this stretch is approximately 50 feet.
W 8th Street - West Concept 1
Vehicle Travel Lanes: 2 lanes, 11 feet wide each
Center-Turn Lane: 1 lanes, 10 feet wide
Tree Lawn: 5 feet wide and buffers sidewalk from the street, north and south sides
Sidewalk: 5 feet wide, north and south sides
This concept would require the Township to acquire 10 additional feet of right-of-way on the north side of the street to accommodate tree lawns and sidewalks on both sides of the street.
If 10' of right-of-way cannot be acquired, a minimum of 6' of additional ROW is needed in order to provide continuous tree lawns and sidewalks on both sides of the street. However, this will make the tree lawns narrower and will be inconsistent with the central and east sections.

W 8th Street - West Concept 2
Vehicle Travel Lanes: 2 lanes, 11 feet wide each
Center-Turn Lane: 1 lanes, 10 feet wide
Tree Lawn: 4 feet wide and buffers sidewalk from the street, north side only
Sidewalk: 5 feet wide, north and south sides
This concept would not require the acquisition of any additional right-of-way. It would, however, make it less comfortable for pedestrians on the south side and more difficult to align the roadway with the concepts for the central and east sections.
Preferred Concept: Concept 1
The project team determined that the first concept was preferable both for the presence of consistent tree lawns on both sides of the street, but also for a better alignment with the central section.
