Operation plans are developed to reflect the community needs for indoor recreation space for activities, events and programs, opportunities to partner with groups, operating philosophy and demographic data. These factors and the value placed on each varies from community to community. The investment in a community center is a strategic, effective way to deliver recreation while appealing to a large portion of the community and improving the quality of life. Considering all these factors, cost recovery of community centers typically range from 60-80% requiring annual subsidies as much as $400,000. The Millcreek Township Community Center has the opportunity to outperform the financial performance of most other facilities.
