If a student-athlete does not qualify for midyear certification his/her case will be reviewed by the Compliance Committee Task Force where penalties will be issued accordingly.

Summer Course Work

Prior approval from the Office of Records and Registration is required if courses taken during another's institution's summer term are to be utilized in determining whether credit is transferable back to KSU. You must complete the Visiting Student Form (Office of Records and Registration).

Student-athletes who have failed to meet the good academic standing grade-point average requirement must attend summer classes at KSU. KSU will only accept the transferable credits hours, not the GPA from other institutions. It is your responsibility to consult with the Academic Coordinator for Athletics if you fall into this category.

*Only 6 credit hours will be used to attain the required 24 credit hours for the academic year.

Ways that my scholarship can be reduced or cancelled include but are not limited to....

  1. Breaking team rules
  2. Rendering yourself academically ineligible
  3. Missed Study Hall ($50-$100/hour) or Class ($500/class)
  4. Repeat offenders for SH the rate will increase by $100
  5. Repeat offenders for unexcused absences from class: rate will increase by $500
  6. Sell and/or use of drugs
  7. Violations of University Policies
  8. Violation of local, state and, federal laws
  9. Disrespect of any athletic or university official
  10. Acquiring a visible tattoo after return to KSU

CLEP Testing Policy

Policy Purpose

The mission of this policy is to ensure that integrity of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Test, as a means to assist student-athletes in their Progress Towards Degree (PTD) is maintained.

CLEP Taking Policy

In order for credit hours to count towards a student-athlete PTD the following must occur:

  1. Student-athlete must have a 2.000 or higher GPA in order to take the test
  2. Student-athlete must have successfully passed 18 credit hours between the Fall and Spring semesters
  3. Student-athlete must have successfully passed 6 credit hours in their last full time semester enrolled
  4. The CLEP test must be taken and passed 15 days prior to the start of the student-athlete's prospective first athletic contest
