POLICY STATEMENT:

Pursuant to the Principles of Accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a mission statement for a university must be clearly defined and comprehensive. It must also effectively guide the public's perception of a university. A mission statement conveys an institution's uniqueness and identifies the qualities, characteristics, and values that define an institution's role within the field of higher education.
