(1) Propose First-Year Experience (FYE) Models based on KSU's Current Student Profile

Scope: Identify a First-Year Experience and a First-Year Seminar model that will foster a sense of belonging, encourage academic curiosity, and equip students with essential skills for a successful college journey at Kentucky State University.

Goals: The university's goals are (1) the first-year experience model must provide first-time, full-time students with a comprehensive introduction to university life, academic success strategies, and personal development; (2) the first-year seminar model must provide first-time, full-time students with a comprehensive introduction to the selected academic degree plan of study and academic success strategies specifically needed for the academic program learning outcomes.

Timeline: The University wishes to have this information by April 30, 2024. Depending on resource allocation, an earlier implementation date is desirable.

Consulting Services Desired: The University is seeking a firm to conduct a student profile analysis to propose an impactful First-Year Experience and First-Year Seminar model to integrate into the general education curriculum. The desired outcome will ensure the First-Year Experience and First-Year Seminar course sequence will increase retention and progression rates for first-time, full-time students, leading to an increased graduation rate.

(2) Propose Second-Year Experience (FYE) Models based on KSU's Current Student Profile

Scope: Identify a Second-Year Experience and a Second-Year Seminar model that will deepen students' engagement with our academic and social communities while focusing on career preparation, leadership development, and collaborative projects to enhance students' confidence and sense of purpose at Kentucky State University.

Goals: The University's goals are (1) the Second-Year Experience model must provide continuing students, especially those first-time, full-time student cohort, with a mechanism to build on the foundation laid in the first year, to deepen students' engagement with their academic and social communities; and, (2) the Second-Year Seminar model must provide continuing students aligned with their academic discipline
