## CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Highlands County, FL

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin work reconstructing rigid pavement on US 27 from north of Tower Street to south of Tower Street and will begin a milling and resurfacing project on US 27 from Shoreline Drive to Davis and Gaines Road on November 20, 2024. The project limits encompass approximately seven miles and crews will also install drainage pipes and structures, guardrail, sidewalks, new signage, pavement markings, signalization, and other safety improvements. Landscaping is also included. The estimated cost of both projects is $28 million.

## PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS

Milling and resurfacing

Signage. pavement markings and landscaping

Sidewalks and guardrail replacement

Drainage pipes and structures

Installation of improved signalization

Concrete intersection improvements

## PROJECT SCHEDULE

Construction begins November 20, 2024; estimated completion is mid-2026

During construction there may be detours and daytime and nighttime lane closures

Traffic will be reduced to one lane as needed

Be aware of changing traffic patterns, heavy equipment and workers during construction
