Traditionally, The Third Thursday Thing program is a monthly in-person workshop held at the Kentucky State University Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm from March to November. Since April 2020, the workshops have been held virtually, via Facebook Live and/or Zoom.

The Kentucky State Small Farms Conference is held every November and includes industry tours, experiential learning opportunities and social networking events. This year, the completely virtual conference had 329 registrants from 24 states and the District of Columbia and averaged 241 unique viewers daily.
