- J.New Bridge Lane – A low-to-medium density and family-friendly residential neighbourhood within walking distance of the retail core will sit alongside a riverside park and enhanced pedestrian and cycle connections, offering an attractive gateway experience from the east to the historic core.
- K.Civic Quarter – The priorities for this highly accessible location adjacent Stockport Station, Stockport Exchange and the A6 will be to make more efficient use of land and to facilitate direct pedestrian connections towards the retail core, increasing permeability and enabling a welcoming and inclusive environment for visitors. Taller and high-quality landmark buildings with office and residential uses will be encouraged on Piccadilly alongside attractive public realm and new biodiverse green space, ensuring the area's historic assets are respected and their settings enhanced.
- L.Middle Hillgate – An area of industrial heritage and varied topography that will be home to a range of housing types and tenures alongside light industrial uses and a growing cultural and creative industries cluster. A nature corridor and opportunities for higher density residential development on underused land to the east will lead to a more cohesive and connected town centre edge community.
- M.Higher Hillgate – This southern gateway to the town centre will offer a safe and walkable residential-led neighbourhood of gentle density centred around St. Thomas Church with a focus on reuse of buildings and land, mix of uses, active travel and improved connectivity. There is potential for higher density residential development including taller buildings towards the south adjacent to the A6.
